Apparently there are supposed to be some spitfires flying over Southampton this afternoon, so all those that care and are in Southampton (A few I seem to remember from the last time it happened) keep an ear listening and try and get some photos! Best photo gets a smile!

we got duxford air museum near our village and there are many cool planes around here. dunno what they are though. i just enjoy the performance and twists.

Mmmm...Merlins - possibly the nicest engine noise of all time. *although generally from the Mk11 onwards they had the Griffin engines in them*

Got a few pics from Duxford last year at the VE Day Celebrations.

The Grace Spitfire - Wonderful aircraft to still have flying. Plus it's an ultra rare 2 seat Spitfire

Sadly my camera is too crap to get shots of them in the air. :(

well that was a little dissapointing from where i was standing. On the waters edge in Hythe, across the water from southampton. I saw them fly over netley and hamble, up towards calshot then back down our way. The only glimpse i got of them close enought to hear the engines, was when they shot down the water up towards marchwood. They stayed in formation, but i was half expecting them to break up and pass over head a bit, but no such luck.

Oh well! Just have to watch it on the news instead.

Theres an old farmer type dude that lives near me and he flys his spitfire to the pub :D lands in the field behind it and gets rat arsed. Gotta love the old guys :D
