Tonight sees Celtic win the SPL under Gordon Strachan for the first time.

Someone said to me tonight, that apart from 1 goal in 2002 and 2 minutes in 2005, Celtic would be looking at 6 in a row tonight, however this is 1 in a row for Strachan. What has gone has gone.....we will build on the present.

Although Strachann has been/was never a favourite of mine, we have won the SPL and CIS Cup this season. Some players MUST go but he has done what every Manager wants to do....has won Cup and League.

I was personally delighted for Hartson scoring on his 31st Birthday to score what proved to be the winner...

Well done Celtic, well done Strachanm well done Big John and lets look forward to next season.

regards

I didn't agree with Strachans appointment at the start of the season but he has achieved so much with so little. He has moulded the team and dropped the wage bill significantly. He should be rewarded with a decent transfer kitty.

I remember some of the Southhampton players saying that he was the best manager they had ever worked under and he does seem to be able to get the team to focus and achieve its targets.

Just a shame he hadn't been in charge longer before tackling the artmedia game.

Interesting to see the support for Strachan, given that quite a few were calling for his head at the start of the season after getting battered in europe by some team from timbuktu and poor performances in the SPL.

Well done Strachan, not an easy task rebuilding the squad following O'Neill's derparture IMO.

I'm liking how he's given the youngsters a good run in the team, and they've delivered.

Best signing he made was to extend Petrov's contract. Miller will score a bucket-load of goals next season

In other words if you hadn't lost the title in both these seasons you would have won them?
Tonight was the only night that I have ever wanted Celtic to win. It will only happen once more - in the Hearts v Celtic game after the split, then never again.
The most consistent team has won the title and deserve congratulations for it.

:D I'm delighted to say the least, and massively hungover. I didn't expect to even win the title this year, let alone so easily. We've played lovely attacking football as well and, considering it's a new teaam and manager, it can only get better.

We could still finish with 103, which (I think) would match any points total from the last 5 years. We'll drop a few now though, Dublin needs 5 more games to get a medal (as does Keane), and the kiddies should get a run out.

I'm pretty sure Hartson will not be here next season so it was great he got the clincher, he's been a fine player.

Strachan has exceeded his targets, yes he was culpable for Artmedia and Clyde but he masterminded several excellent wins over Hearts and Rangers. Europe will be a major challenge for him but he should go there with confidence.

HAIL HAIL!

Same goes for any manager of a top team. Europe is where they are ultimately judged, but they have to good enough to get their first.

true

think the leagues been disapointing from a neutrals point of view this year. hasnt held my interest as much without the challenge of Rangers. Hearts looked like they might challenge at the start of the season but thats petered out.

the cups been good tho. Gretna have been amazing the past 2 seasons :)

Was there lastnight to see it all unfold.....Have to say it was a pretty poor game from Celtics POV.....Some really sloppy passing and some big time players were presumed AWOL but all in all who gives a flying monkeys as we have won the League :D

I never doubted Strachan would bring silverware to Celtic Park but i honestly thought he would struggle this season with having to practically rebuild a whole team and play the football he and the fans wants to see...

At times we have played some top class football but we've also played rather badly in a few games.....Bratislava i can forgive but Clyde.......WTF? :D

A lot of faces are going out the door this summer.....My money is on....

Thompson
Telfer
Hartson
Balde
Dublin
Camara
Virgo (on loan)

And perhaps our Captain Lenny....Atleast by the way he's been talking recently anyway.....It's all good......Mission accomplished......Hopefully the kids will get a run now......Marshall , Pearson, McGeady , Wallace (he still dont convince me) and as it's been said.....A few players need some games to win a medal

Hail Hail :D

Well to be fair if Romanov wasn't an interfering eejit(I can't write what I really think without getting the post edited) then sticking with any one of the three previous managers may have given the team a better chance but nevermind.

Well done to Celtic, I did think Hearts had a chance and they did make it more exciting but clear and easy winners for consistency were Celtic so they win the league comfortably :)

Well done Celtic.... was yours on a plate as we screwed it up majorily.... (still could be a Jambo here writing this) but no...... it pains it to say this we needed those three points to try and put pressure on the Jam tarts... for a place in the CL next season..... anyone saying that to me at end of last season would have needed shot, and I am quite sure a few tic supporters would have agreed.... has prob been a good season for Scottish Football, not as clear cut for outsiders to see thats its only a two horse race over the last 25 years odd..... yes 25 years for both OF rivals to be so dependant on results and reliant on places.....

Pity it was a bit premature on our behalf guys...but I beleive all Mangers including Mo'N, Fergie (in recent years gone by) said much similar on his demise as coach.

Haha i only found out last night lol.Rangers fan at work told me not to start and gave me the finger...i was like what........n thats how i found out.

Got it rubbed into my ex gf and her wee sister, proper jambos lol.

Nice to see a few scots here from around this area.Im in hamilton......well pretty much next to blantyre
