After discussion the SPL thread has been allowed to come back but please read the rules below and follow them to ensure that it can stay.

1) Treat other posters with respect. Do not belittle their club or use unflattering nicknames for either the poster, their club or anyone associated with the club including players - if you're in any doubt then don't use the phrase or email a moderator prior to use.

2.a) The SPL thread is only for discussion of SPL footballing matters - you may feel strongly about something your club has done in the past or something another club has done but this is not the thread to discuss it in.

2.b) This also means no discussion of Rangers liquidation, there is a separate thread for that and any discussion should remain in there.

3) Don't bait other fans in an attempt to get them to respond insensibly, that's covered by the general prohibition against trolling - if you do this then you can expect repercussions.

4) These rules are simply an extension to the standard Football Stadium rules here, they still apply so do yourself a favour and make sure you're acquainted with both sets before posting.

5) Try to enjoy yourself and let others do the same. It's unfortunate that the rules need to be spelled out in such a fashion but we don't want to see anyone banned because of a lack of clarity.

THERE WILL BE NO DISCUSSION OR EVEN MENTION OF SECTARIAN ISSUES OR THE BEHAVIOUR OF OTHER FANS WHATSOVER.

Celtic and Rangers will be referred to as Celtic and Rangers and nothing else, what some consider acceptable others do not.

Punishments will go in stages

1 - Infraction
2 - 7 Day suspension
3 - 14 day suspension
4 - 28 day suspension and removal of Sports Arena access rights

Members who already have history may start at the 7 day suspension level.

With that all said hopefully we can enjoy a good season.

Results from the weekend are:

Dundee Utd 3-0 Hibernian
Celtic 1-0 Aberdeen
Hearts 2-0 St Johnstone
Kilmarnock 0-0 Dundee
Ross County 0-0 Motherwell
St Mirren 2-2 Inverness CT

A good start as far as I'm concerned in terms of results but not a great performance from Hearts.

Rangers aren't in the SPL so surely the reference to Rangers is a non issue in this thread?

I can start an *****Official diddy SFL League season***** for diddy teams like my own if need be :)

They should be a non-issue but it's better to be explicit about it since a number of times things that should be non-issues have reared their ugly heads and there's been a whole lot of mess to clean up.

If you'd like to start a thread for any of the other SFLs or indeed one for all of them you are more than welcome to. :)

Why was my original post deleted regarding "Sell-Out Saturday"? It was not Rangers talk.

It was directly relevant to the SPL. I can understand the following posts being deleted as the discussion was taken off topic due to doopydug, but the original post deserved to stay!

No it didn't, it just looked like a thinly disguised way to point out that Rangers still got lots of fans to their game. If you want to discuss it any further then feel free to send me an email but this thread is not going to get taken off topic in this way.

Todays results:

Ross County 1-1 Celtic
Hearts 2-2 Inverness Caley Thistle
Kilmarnock 1-2 Motherwell
St Johnstone 1-2 Aberdeen
St Mirren 1-2 Hibernian

Slightly disappointed with that, letting a two goal lead go against a team with 10 men for all of the second half. Top of the table on goal difference for now but need to do better.

Wonder how this will go.

I'd suspect not well is the short answer. Even if Hearts manage to stave off the initial winding up order there's still a further £1.75m tax bill in dispute. Although we've managed so far to avoid the winding up orders the financial management at the club seems to have been utterly horrendous. About the only "bright" spot in the whole sorry mess is that a failure to pay a tax bill can only attract an embargo on registration of players and that's already in place...

Bit disappointing but not entirely surprising given the general troubles Hearts have at the moment that they've lost to Hibs. Although that's the second time in a week that Hearts have scored an own goal - there's no need to be so generous.

The old SPL thread had more than 1400 posts at the end of the year 2010-2011 (last year's got wiped) 1/2 way through season 2012-2013 and we are on post 178!

There simply is no interest in a league without the old firm.

There's also a lot less antagonism so from that point of view it's better. I've posted less in the thread this year as Hearts have been doing terribly.

I've posted a lot less due to not being goaded into replies by Semi-Pro Waster, McMav and McRod. I think most replies in the last thread came from those three gloating over every Rangers win and every dropped point by Celtic although they definitely quietened down as the season progressed. :)

I think I'm going to have to ask you to evidence your claims, I didn't gloat about Rangers wins/Celtic losses or vice versa. You might be thinking about someone else but my team is Hearts so you could almost say I don't care about football at all...
