Comes out in UK in 3 days. The advertising budget is massive there have been large adverts on the london underground for a week now in prime locations like oxford circus, marble arch & bond street  & its also runnning TV ads with PC Gameplay footage. Ubisoft must be very confident in the game to pay for this its very expensive to run a TV & Tube advertising campaign!

25GB is the recommmended HD space so buy retail if you can the deluxe version comes with lots of extras like a wrist watch, 2 DLC maps & much more for only £10 more than the basic version. This is also a DX11 heavy TWIMTBP title on PC so should look ok.

No Michael Ironside anymore he retired as he did not want to do the motion capture & hated doing it on Conviction apparently  The new guy is not very distinct sadly but thats what the future holds as Ironside is just no longer interested unless its voice over work only :(

Yeah seen the advert on the tube, only seen one, can't quite remember the station though, none of what you mentioned.

A friend of mine is on the dev team at Ubisoft Montreal as an animator/modeller. He's pumped for this release but then it's his first major title release since he landed a top job there so I imagine he would be anyway. Looks good, quite enjoy the SC games but I'll wait for some reviews first.

Lol, why on earth would they need him for anything OTHER than voice over? A la any animation film.
I hardly think he'd need to lend his dynamic actions skills via motion capture (never had any anyway) to the role of Sam Fisher surely.

They should have kept his voice, i've enjoyed all the SC games.....won't be the same without Michael's voice.

It's not motion capture, it's performance capture, the idea is that they capture the motion and dialogue at the same time so it 'fits' and sounds natural. Plenty of games are doing it these days because the end result is superior.

I do wonder why they didn't just take it as an opportunity to 'reboot' the franchise ala Tomb Raider though.

Their advertising can't be that great as I've seen nothing except the Nvidia promotion, and that's only because it's a free game with the cards lol.

Oh, i see.....can't say i'd notice it too much when immersed in the game though.

Those that got the code from Nvidia, do you have it shown in your games list on Uplay? mine isn't so guess it appears on Friday?

I can see why they do the mocap/voicing from the same guy to make it better, but it isn't worth losing an iconic voice. It's like if David Hayter got a bit old and couldn't do the mocap and Kojima changed snakes voice... it would ruin it and imo it has for this, Ironside was iconic as Fisher, you can't just change that. :(
