Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Coop Problem

I've just finished Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and I want to try the Online Coop mode which sounds fun. I just can't get it to work at all though. Any time I try to join a game, I get a message saying "cannot join this game" or something to that effect. Do I need to mess around with my firewall settings or anything? I’ve got a Netgear DG834G Router by the way.

First thing to check is that you've entered the correct key - the online key is a different one to your CD key and is printed on the manual (the CD key is the one on the CD!)

Assuming that's corrrect, you're gonna have to take a deep breath and accept the fact that the online "features" of Splinter Cell simply do not work properly. A quick read around the Ubisoft forums will tell you that you're better off accepting this as a single-player only game, forgetting that multiplayer ever existed - it's a shambles.

I have got it working a few times but it's inconsistent and frankly not worth the effort.

Thanks for the info. That's a bit disappointing since the online modes sounded interesting. Oh well - the single player game's really good so I suppose I can play that again
