I have a LAN coming up with afew mates and were hoping one of the games to play would be Splinter Cell : CT. My mate with Vista 32bit installed the game but had to update his StarForce before it would work.

I installed the game fine but when I tried booting it up I get this error message.

I tried updating my Starforce too but when I booted up the update (sfdrvup.exe) I get the error message saying

"No installed protection drivers found to update"

Anyone with Vista 64bit ever had this problem and know how to fix it. Ive tried searching all over and havent found anything useful :(

i personally have a spare drive for LAN's
install a copy of 32 bit windows so you know its all hunkey dory

I know it doesn't help your problem but its a lot safer than risking your main pc on a unprotected network

Bit of a dodgy error, Microsoft is spelled wrong and IIRC this game requires DX9, which afaik isn't available for Win95/NT - I suppose it must be referring to the installer package.

Ubisoft did a patch to remove Starforce from it (might be patch1.05). Look around for that as unsure if it is 64bit compliant otherwise try looking for the nodvd patch as that does work but there are a fww issues still on SP and MP is broken still.

This is still a top game and looks/runs well on my 40" HDTV so well worth getting to work if you can.

Using a NO-DVD crack seemed to work well...

Install Game
Patch it
Crack it
Works without all this "Starforce update" stuff.
