i have a 8800gts. before i break the seal on my copy of splinter cell, i was wondering if the game has any issues with this gpu, running the latest nvidia drivers and patch 1.02. if anyone with this card also has the game or knows the answer, i would appreciate your input. im dying to let this puppy rip :D

guys, someone must know whether the new drivers and patch etc have sorted the problem out. im dying to play the game

Yep, looks awful, runs awful, plays awful and clunky. I cant see the game having any extra problems that involve the card, but even if it does, you wont be missing out on much.

i've got the game and i must say runs fine for me, runs at low fps at some parts but overall im quite enjoying the game really :). Just remember to get the latest pathc.

lo m8 i have a gts and the game is no go for me even with the latest patch i recieve .exe error hope this helps, there is a kind of hack to get it running but im not going down that road.

cheers.

alright, well looks like ill have to give it back tomorrow. thats a shame. what about rainbow six.does this suffer from the same bugs and compatibility issues as scda

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas runs ok with shadows turned down but it should run better than it does but thats console ports for ya, the futher you get in the game its seems to run a lot better and is a wicked game.
When i first started it i was a little put off but now im near the end it's well good, go with that m8.

cheers.

alright, just downloaded and played the demo of scda and it worked fine, no glitches etc on my system. there werent really any display options though like hdr, aa etc. do you think that this means that the main game should work

do what i do when im unsure about a game, install it, take a screenie of that, and then take a screenie of any errors, print them off, take the game back and say simply, "as you can see, this doesnt run with my pc" and anyway, you should be able to take it back for a refund or trade at full price within 2 weeks. no reason needed.

Never gave me any issue's at all, quite enjoyed it.I'm using an X1900XT though

the large online game retailer i purchased it from clearly stated that once the seal was broken, i wouldnt be able to get a refund. not sure how this effects exchange though. sure it works fine with the x1900xt. think problem might be with 8800's

well, i decided to just go for it and installed the game with latest nvidia drivers, and latest patch and it doesnt work. doesnt even come close. doesnt even load up. i just get a "splintercell4.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" windows error message. what an absolute load of crap. anyone have any suggestions :(

same here mate, i have the buggy gaame too on my old 7950gtx it would run ok for about 90% of the time up to the japan level & than errors all over the place, i could not save or get any where passed that level so when i got my 8800gtx the game will not run now, i have done a clean uninstall & reinstall & fully updated updated it but i can not get it to run now at all !!!

just hope a new pacth comes out soon !!!!!!!!.

so if there is any ubi staff on here please make a new patch asap !!!! :(

why the hell would any company reease a game with this many flaws, and even more foolishly, why would a consumer like me be stupid enough to buy their crap
