Not sure if everyone is aware, but there is a free mod that adds loads of fixes/toggles in a seperate menu within the games menu, and simply put, it's great!
You even get controller support, I'm currently using a wireless Xbox controller and once you enable the toggle in the menu it works once you're playing the game, you will have to still use the mouse/keyboard to navigate the game menus, and click the left mouse button when you complete a level (basically whenever it says press fire to continue when starting/finishing something, but it's not a big deal) - I personally went into one of the config files and changed the controller mapping, and set the resolution to 4K, but other than that 'it just works', very impressed - I randomly stumbled across a Youtube video on the mod and then saw the first game was £1.07 in the Steam sale (expires on the 10th July) then downloaded the mod, and here we are!
I also downloaded the optional PS3 textures mod, as there was a HD remaster trilogy on the PS3.
For a 'work in progress' this is awesome! The only 'issue' I can find fault with, is the cutscenes are low rise and small due to this, it's hard to fix this apparently, it has been done on the later games with similiar mods, but hopefully they fix it on this one day, not a deal breaker though, and if you were 'that bothered about it' you could watch them between levels on youtube.
I've been replaying this for the first time in 23 years!
