I've completed Splinter Cell DA & now i'm wondering what next. Was the first splinter cell I played since splinter cell 1 on the playstation & I loved it :)

Are Thief 3 and Hitman like splinter cell? Similar enough that if I get them i'll probably enjoy them as much? I also have Choas Theory somewhere, still never installed

IMHO Thief is in a different class to Splinter Cell - a much more honest portral of the genre. Thief 3 is probably the best to get new people into it because of the possibility of choosing 3rd person (ala SC) aswell as 1st person (best because its much more immersive for these types of games).

Thief 2 in my books is the best of the series though...

I would recommend the latest Hitman (Blood Money) it's IMO the best of the series and has some cracking levels. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is also pretty good too. I haven't played DA though so I can't really compare the two.

Agree with this - Thief 2 is the best stealth game I've ever played. Also benefits from a decent control system (mouse n keyboard) rather than those horrid thumb stick things :)

you should certainly try hitman blood money.

for all the pc games i've played i've never played the thief games. i'll need to see whats going cheap down the games stores i think.

Also I forgot to put the fact that Garrett is the only player character in all those 3 games that is actually badly ill-equipped at melee combat (he quite quickly dies against normal bod-standard patrolmen), so stealth isnt just a benefit (like it is in Hitman and Splinter Cell) but also for pure survival - you really learn a new mentatilty and levels can just take hours on end to complete, while you skulk looking for the shadows.

Looking Glass created the genre and broke the mould at their first attempt. Seriously you havent played a stealth game until you play a Thief game...

Never thought I was such a big fan of the Thief series, just hate it when people compare it to SC et al. Best thing you could do for christmas is hunt down the sold out version of Thief and Thief 2 combo for about a £5...

Ill shut up now ;)

Theif 3 is excellent. Nothing like a quick jog around 'The Cradle' to get the blood pumping!!!!!!!

I reckon that the cradle was one of the best levels in any computer game - pure class. Overall though Theif 2 was a better game. Very tricksie.

I preferred the original Thief to either of the sequels, but all are outstanding games. Word of warning though.. Thief 1 and 2 dont have a frame limiter and seem to run too fast on modern systems. The only way I could get round it was to enable vsync and set my crt's refresh rate to 60hz......not good for the eyes lol but what can you do :)

rainbow 6? it would be like splintter cell in some ways i would assume

Nah, the first one was good but after that not so much. Its also too distant from splinter cell. I've installed Chaos Theory now & have done 3 levels, its very good, wish i'd installed it sooner. I actually think Double Agent is better though. One thing that bugs me in CT is you cant grab people while they're sat down like you can in DA. I enjoyed sneaking up behind someone asleep on a chair & choking them :D

Never really got into any Splinter Cell.

Theif games only played Theif 3 on the Xbox which was good yeah.

Hitman tops them all imo, Hitman 2 was one of my favorite games, Hitman blood money is very good, better then the previous games. Best Hitmans are Blood money and 2.

I say this on these forums every time it is mentioned - scariest PC moment to date.

Damn level.

I think it's made all the worse by the fact you jump in through that high window, so you *know* there is know way of getting out again.
