Splittable laptop-tablet or not

I was thinking that my next laptop would possibly be one of the Splittable types, (Asus transformer etc) were you can remove the screen and have a smaller unit to carry similar to an ipad type tablet.

The other option I have, is just to keep my ipad and buy an new laptop/notebook.

What I am looking for is any recommendations on what to go for or not to go for.

You will be sorely disappointed imo keep the ipad and get a notebook.

I have a Asus ME400C its good enough for surfing the net, writing small word documents and watching you tube.

But it just cant compete against an i3/i5/i7 11.6 - 13.3" notebook.
