Hi, wondering if I can split two lots of audio from one PC?

Our TV is connected via a switch to my PC. So "at the flick of a switch" I can watch movies on our TV. I just plug an audio cable (also connected to the TV) into the PC and away we go. Easy.

Problem is... She want's to watch Love Actually and I want to play RUST. I can do both no problem visually but how do I send the Audio from the movie to the TV, and the audio from game to my headset?

Essentially, can I have the movie play to IO Audio jack and the game to Front panel Audio simultaneously? My mobo is MSI Z97 PC Mate

Thanks.

You can certainly do this when you have two soundcards (Ie one onboard and one dedicated). Using something like VLC you can manually set it to output to one of the two soundcards overriding the windows settings. That way your game defaults to the windows option and the movie uses the other card that you specify.

I'd be surprised if you could do it with only one sound device though unless that device specifically supports this as a feature. I'd be surprised if any onboard audio does it.

It works! great program. So easy, just click send movie to "speakers" and send game to "headphones". Fantastic.

RUST > Love Actually :)
