¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've got some big 7GB files that I need to split up and buredn to DVD's. Does anyone know of a program like WinRAR for the mac than allows spanning an a PAR file maker like QuickPAR for additional piece of mind?

Can you not use Disk Utility to mount the file as a DMG, then use an app called DMGscissor to cut the file into DVD sized chunks and burn them off separately.

Alternatively, I believe Unrar X has a unix-based command line option, so if you're familar with that it could also be an option?

and finally.. if you have Toast you can use the Disc Spanning method to automagically burn the file across several CDs / DVDs.

Disc Spanning
If you are creating a Mac Only or Mac & PC data disc, you can record large files and folders, even if they exceed the recording capacity of a single disc. If you do, Toast advises you of approximately how many blank discs are needed, and automatically spans the data across them. The completed group of discs is called a disc set. Each disc in the set contains an index of the contents and location for every file and folder in the set.

To span discs:
1. Prepare your disc as you normally would. See Making a Mac Only Disc on page43 or Making a Mac & PC Disc on page49. As you add data to the Content Area, the left side of the Toast window displays information about the number of discs you will need for recording. Click the disc capacity pop-up menu next to the Space indicator to adjust the information for CD, DVD, or Blu-ray disc media.

2. Record your disc.
Toast will prompt you to insert each blank disc while recording.

Well, I tried to find WinRar for OSX, but it actually doesn't exist... Only "Rar" for OSX in on the website...

Also I tried to google DMGscissor and also tried that link, it appears that thier site is down.

I'll give Unrar X a go... :)
