I saw this on Sky news last night - the very popular and far right wing Dutch MP Geert Wilders is backing the move to release a 15-minute video which criticises the Muslim holy book, the Koran !

After the controversy caused by the 12 cartoons first published in a Danish newspaper in 2006 that triggered major protests the Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen is distancing himself from Mr Wilders.

Am just wondering where this is all going to end up - more to the point are the events occurring in Denmark a precursor to what may happen here in Britain?
Also on the point am not looking to turn this into a Muslim bashing thread just simply wondering what you guys think?

If so then dont see a problem. Treat em all the same. Why should one religion get special treatment?

a religion should be open to criticism and question regardless. if it isnt the people touting its teachings arnt using it as a religion but rather as fascist teachings that shouldnt be questiond.

I'll be interested to see the guys video as its good to see someone speak out on a taboo subject but he sounds way over the top.

Regardless on whether you believe or agree with his sentiments you cant argue as he sums up with:

Not all Muslims are terrorists, but almost all terrorists are Muslims.

It strikes me that he's simply standing up for his own beliefs and what he believes is best for his own country, some may call this freedom of speech and others may call this provocation.

Well yeah of course that will happen but there will be no ultimate ending if that's what you're asking. Like the resolve of such stupid squabbling over make-believe friends (god), that won't happen.

I see your point and agree that ultimately there probably wont be any such resolve, however after the outcry will this help in allowing people to no longer being afraid of speaking up for what they believe in as opposed to living in fear of upsetting the smaller majority?

No, i have no fear what so ever when it comes to speaking out for what i believe in contrary to other peoples beliefs. For that many would label me a racist and they'd be entitled to their opinion as well.

We know it probably will happen again Dave but lets hope it doesn't come down to that. No religion or group of people are ever going to convert the majority into seeing things their way by violence.
