Spoofing email address

Hi Guys.

I keep getting emails from "My Bank" etc.

I can delete these(which I do) However I also have the option of blocking sender.
However if i get a spoof email that happens to look like it comes from the bank I use. If I block sender will that then block all emails from "My real bank"

Depends if your bank use the exact same email address or not. Is there anything in the email you can use to create a rule to delete them automatically?

What email system do you use? Chances are your bank will have SPF records stating which email servers can send emails on their behalf. The spammer's won't be using that IP so that's one way to detect a non-genuine email and automatically spam it.

What email client are you using?

You can just mark it as spam. If the domains are different, then only the spoof emails will get marked as spam and the legit emails will not.

I get loads that look like they come from legitimate bank emails.

[email protected] Etc etc.
or
[email protected]
I wasn't sure if behind that email address was a number or something

Just add to junk and report to your bank and in a few days they should go to junk automatically.
Forward barclay ones onto [email protected]
And Lloyds to [email protected]
