So in the ongoing battle to find the best / easiest / lest cluttering up my computer way of trying out cross browser support I happened upon spoon.net.

Essentially, you install a little browser extension and you can then run all sorts of programs / apps, and most importantly, different types of browser live over the internet.

Seems to work quite well from the limited testing I've given it, only thing I dislike is their extension is constantly on in the task manager, not just when you've got one of their programs loaded, though it is quite small and inconspicuous.

Oh and you can't launch stuff in chrome, only IE that I've tried

I find IETester is sometimes a little flaky, especially when using IE6 and below.

Will check this out OP, thanks.

Yeh I've always found it tricky to do cross browser testing. Browser shots are slow and you can't navigate the site and virtual machines are messy. Until now I just had a separate laptop for IE6 etc
