I got a new laptop and was about to upload all my music and download some new stuff before trying to work out how to get it all snyc'd on to my iPhone... boring.

Then I thought that I might just get a premium spotify account. I have unlimited internet on my phone so even if I'm downloading on the go it's not a problem and I know you can set up a sync'd downloaded library on my PC also.

All in all it seems like a good deal for £10pm.

Anyone using it, what the catch? Nothing I've searched for so far hasn't unable to find. It know's all about Parov Stelar... as should all of you I might add.

Thoughts/experiences?

Its a great service if you're goung to make use of its worth it too.. i got Deezer as a swapable on orange for free similiar to spotify

Got 6 months free spotify premium from virgin when i signed up for their cable broadband. Ends in July i think.

I use it now and then, not a heavy user as i have a good amount of music on my hdd so no need for it. But the "whats new" sections are handy for listening to the top songs thats out at the mo or albums. Also its nice when u want a specific song on demand.

If your not bothered by specific songs/tracks etc just use the radio instead, its free.

I got like a year for free from Virgin. I like it, I listen to a lot of dance music which not many people listen to, so its not on there. But I discover stuff I like on it.

My only problem is the mobileapp is being stupid on my iPhone and won't download offline content. Not a big deal as I have unlimited data though.

I'm only on unlimited £5/month (no ads, no limits) and really think it's a worthwhile spend.

There are a number of artists who you might not be able to find but they're becoming fewer and fewer as time goes on. I like the social options where you can see what friends are listening to, share playlists and tracks and most recently I'm liking the 'apps' within spotify:

TuneWiki automatically searches and presents lyrics in time with the song

WeAreHunted generates suggestions of artists by genre, inspiration or other relations.

If you were to make full use of the mobile element on your iphone then £10/month is a bargain in my opinion.

If the music you want is on there it's worth it for sure, I have to supplement it with some local content to cover the artists I want to listen to who aren't on there, but it's pretty much my sole music source now

Is there any way of not allowing Spotify to access your Facebook?

Sounds a bit odd but I have Facebook pointed to a spam email account I use but would much rather have my spotify email address going to my actual email account... It seems it's so ingrained with Facebook that you can't actually change any details on Spotify.

Premium user here, use it on my PC and mobile and would definitely recommend it. There are a few noticeable absences on there but doesn't really stop it from being a great service.
