Spray paints.

Yeah, do a base, 3 coats, and then a clearcoat to give it a bit of protection.

When spraying keep the cans in a bowl of hot water. It's something I used to do when spraying RC Shells and it helps keep the paint thinner/no clogging and prevents uneven coverage.

I completely botched my first attempt at spraying my case. Was going to do the outside white and the inside black. Let's just say I rushed it a little and it came out wrinkly, runny and plain just ugly. So I've now had the case sitting around for the last three months as I slowly sand and scrape away the paint. The outside is painted white now and looks mostly okay, just have to repaint the inside.

I strongly recommend reading through as many guides as you can and taking your time. I rushed mine and instantly regretted it. A waste of time and money. And my computer hasn't had a case for the last 3 months as I was just too sickened to sit down and redo it all over again.

I had to spray a PC case PINK a while ago when I built my sister a PC for xmas.
I ended up having to spray it twice after scratching the coat, that was down to me not putting a primer coat on 1st.

3 coats of Black Primer, then 3 coats of Black Satin topcoat, using Plastikote. No clear coat over it,and its not that easy to scratch it (i tried on the back of the Case),you would have to give it a fair old crack to scratch it.Unless you count where the panel slides on,and that was out of impatience

Which brand? Where from? How much would I be looking to pay for them?

Thank you. :)

I get these lacquer based paints from a local pound shop, they appear to be of the cheap and nasty variety, but if you read the back, they're made by tetrosyl, who make all those car paint restoration compounds, waxes and washes. They're great paints, but you wouldn't think so considering they're only £1 a can. Lacquers are one of the toughest paints you can get so you won't have to worry about it scratching. Unfortunately, the only colours they do are white and grey primers, and a gloss black.

Great tip, I also do this with my spray cans, and it really does make a difference. It ensures a nice even coverage of paint and the paint comes out the nozzle finer too. :)

so how about if I wanted a specific colour?

I want RAL6018

ral6018.jpg

to spray my xbox 360 to match my pc and its that colour :)

Also what colour primer would I need for that colour?

If I want a matt finish (lol.. that's me!) would I not use any laquer?

I fancy a bit of spray action now :) maybe a little going back to work present to myself :)

Anyone, feel free to sugest where can get me specific paint colours :)

Sorry to revive such an old thread.

For the purposes of spraying the inside of my Black Lian Li case, would a can of Satin Black Plasti-Kote with a few layers after a quick sand down be enough?

It doesn't need to be an amazing finish as I cannot be bothered with endless cycles of sanding, cleaning, painting, sanding, cleaning, painting etc.

Thanks

EDIT:

If I got a can of Plasti-Kote Aluminium Primer and sprayed that on first would I need to bother with sanding?
