Right, I've decided to keep my 205 and sort it out properly. I'll reveal my plans soon.

Now, part of this plan is to get a respray done. Its Just the outside I'm getting done, as its just small areas that need touched up, but I figure I may as well get it done all over, to save any imperfections.

Now, how much would I be roughly looking at to get an all over spray? I've never had any bodywork done on a car before so I have no idea on price :/

Any ideas? It'd be in a Pearlescent colour.

Thanks.

I predict a few "don't bother" comments, but a pearlescent colour is going to be well over £1k to do. A friend of mine recently got quoted £200 for is '86 Mini in a Metalic British Racing Green type colour. That would be about £500 normally but he knows the bodyshop well, a few of his friends run it.

Well its currently a pearlescent colour, so it'd just be the same again. I'm not sure if that makes it cheaper...

Doubt it.

Have you thought about machine polishing? You'd be surprised how much it can bring up the paint work.

You can also wet sand / touch in any scratches and polish them out this way too.

I'd get it machine polished, but the laquer is messed up, it needs a blow over, so I may as well do it properly.

Makes sense, the back of our 205 is a bit dodgy with the lacquer as well....

P.S Stop talking to me on msn about gti-6 engine in the 205... I've already started researching :(
