Anyone else going? I've got a track session booked at 9:15, let's hope the rain holds off and the old girl holds together :D

Should be a great day for it if the weather stays as it is!

Been round combe a couple of times in 2 of my cars and no matter what that last corner always frightens the hell out of me lol.

Is this the first time you've taken your golf out on track? I imagine it should provide a great amount of fun :D

Yep, first time on track with the Golf.

Really looking forward to it, last time I was on track was about 7 months ago in the Skyline (at Silverstone), and I haven't done Combe in over a year.

awesome, have fun. I'm off karting this weekend which should be excellent although my neck is hurting a lot at the moment so that could be interestin!

Was going to this (went to Bank Holiday Race Weekend) but am going to watch Prescott Hill Climb instead.

Let us know how you get on :) Would have been nice to say hello.

Hate living so far away from decent tracks :(. Having only driven Combe once (and my first track day at that), I'm gagging to get back on circuit.

Just got back, was a great day and the rain held off for the most part.

Had a great track session, the Golf was supurb and lots of fun. Such predictable and controllable handling, with predictable oversteer at the limit thanks to the Whiteline rear ARB. Understeer was non-existant

I did get frustrated by a Mk1 MR2 that was infront of me though, I was much quicker in the bends and carried more speed out of them, but I didn't quite have the power to overtake him on the straights, and he just wouldn't pull over and let me past. Hugely frustrating as he was holding me up through the bends

All-in-all though it was great fun, I just wish I had booked more sessions :(

A couple of mates got some cracking pics, will post them once they have sent them to me.

Dunno, kind of forget about them as I don't really seem to be involved anymore.

I used to organise the Rovertech club days there and would always be the big event of the year where we would all catch up, offer each other passenger rides etc. Used to really enjoy them though, especially in my Rover.

A few of the pics my mate took of me on the track:

Great pics, the Golf is looking good!

Love the "how you doin'?" look going on in the last pic :p

OMG ILLEGAL PLATEZORZ!1
that 240z has a cool plate though

looks like you had a fun day out, and those wheels are growing on me :p

they do suit the car really well, especially with the old-style font
the silver and black match the wheels and car :)

i like the black plates :]

They actually came with car (but not fitted), I wasn't sure about them so never got round to fitting them. But on friday when I was washing the car ready for saturday I thought I'd stick them on to see how they look, and I actually really like them, they are pressed aluminium so '3D' and they suit the look of the car IMO.

Yes, I know they aren't strictly legal, and if I get pulled for them I'll put the standard ones back on, but untill then I'll leave them as they are
