Spring Fibre - Anyone heard of them?

Hey all,

I've noticed in our area there is a fair bit of digging going on and the workers appear to be operating on behalf of someone called "Spring Fibre" however the details when I look them up online are a bit cryptic, they seem to be similar to City Fibre in that they setup and roll out the network and infrastructure but they don't actually sell direct to customers, instead letting others operate on their network.

Has anyone heard of them as at the moment the offerings near us are absolute pants since OpenReach decided that they were only going to roll out FTTP to the bottom of our estate and Virgin have covered the rest but they aren't cheap for business broadband (Since that is the only option if you want a static IP)

Does anyone have any info on them or experience with buying from them? :)

It's extremely rare for your IP to change on VM residential.

Regarding Spring Fibre, it's just one of the many alt nets and no doubt they'll either get acquired or go bust.
I seem to be unlucky as when I had my residential connection it changed enough to make it a problem haha :D

I see, that makes sense then, didn't realise they had a habbit of going bust so will steer clear for now

I wouldn't worry about it if I'm honest, they'll get acquired and customers moved over to the new company if that does happen. But it seems to be the goal of alt-nets.

I was gonna say, nothing wrong giving them a go. FTTP by anyone is gonna be a stellar upgrade if you're on ADSL/FTTC.

If they go bust, they'll be taken over or bought out by someone anyway. So your connection should be (hopefully) maintained by someone else.
