Sprinkler hoses and roof irrigation

Hello!

Bit of a weird one this - we had an extension done recently and had a green (sedum) roof installed. With the glorious weather the roof has really suffered, so I've had to climb up there with a sprinkler a couple of times a week.

I'd rather not, so I'm looking to install an irrigation system up there. I could be wrong but I don't think a soaker hose would do the trick, so I'm thinking of installing sprinkler hoses. Has anyone used these before? Can they go for long runs (it's a big roof)? Can they be installed at an angle so they squirt up and across, rather than straight up?

Could you not just run a drip line irrigation in a grid across the roof? I think you'd normally install it at the time of laying the roof mind you as they work best when watering the roots.

Drip line irrigation or seep hose though that should have been installed at the start as you'd be disturbing it now its the most efficient way of doing it as its delivered straight to the roots with minimal evaporation loss as well as being invisible

I wish I had done at the time. Roof's laid now and I don't want to dig it up.

They have a well priced irrigation kit at LIDL at the moment, I was surprised how good it is. Should get you out of a pinch for now and has quite a low flow, so forgetting its on isn't a massive issue.

Thanks - I'll take a look. There's one on Amazon that seems to have mini sprinklers on it

Would you have to dig it up though? Could you not use something like a half moon lawn edger to cut a channel at various points and loop the drip line through it? Obviously be careful not to cut all the way through to the roof coverings!

Something like this https://www.kaercher.com/uk/home-ga...-system-tm/rain-system-hose-10m-26452270.html with https://www.kaercher.com/uk/home-ga...cher-rain-system-tm/drip-nozzle-26452340.html along the length of the pipe except where its looping to the next channel across the sedem roof?
