Hi guys,

I need to start getting back in shape while I'm working away during the week. There's a park nearby so I was thinking of trying some sprint intervals:

Set 1:

30 second sprint
120 second rest
30 second sprint
120 second rest
30 second sprint
120 second rest
30 second sprint
240 second rest

Repeat for Set 2 and 3.

Does this sound okay? I found it on a webpage somewhere and it seems pretty good.

EDIT: here, #1 All Purpose: http://www.poliquingroup.com/ArticlesMultimedia/Articles/Article/1007/Three_Superb_Sprint_Interval_Workouts_To_Achieve_Y.aspx

Cheers,

Jed

When you say "sprint" are you meaning full tilt or just "running faster than normal" because they are two quite different conecpts.

The intervals you have chosen are probably longer than I would go for, but that's because I'm lazy: I can't sprint for more than twenty seconds... :D

A good/nice starting point is 15/45 or 20/40 work/rest ratio.

Allows you to actually sprint and sufficient time to recovery but not so much that intensity is non existent. Should find 15-20 mins maximum to be plenty.

Sprint uphill too if you can.
