Sprung a leak

Thats not running down from a dodgy hose or compression. Thats coming from the rad. Everything was bone dry, that drip formed immediately on pump power on.

So it's time to crack out the screwdrivers and remove the rad. Guess its time to drain the loop and remove those gfx cards too.

I'll flush everything that goes back in with clean DI water anyhow. Got plenty of spares around the place if needed.

So yesterday I stripped the rig, pulled the 2x 6950s, swapped the busted radiator for the one at the front. Right now I have one 240mm rad for the i5 and a 7990. GPU Temps were 60C when benched with furmark.

Air temperature inside the case is a concern for me.
Unpleasantly hot in there.

Rad fans are 120mm Scythe GTs.
Case fans are 140mm Fractal ones.

The 7990 is generating more heat on its own than the 2 previous cards, and the radiator is blowing hot air on it.

So I'm wondering if I can do a quick fix and reverse the front fans, or I'll have to unscrew the top fans and rad and flip those. At some point in the near future I'll be replacing and refitting a second 240mm rad in there which should go a long way to dealling with the heat.

Didn't get a chance to do a acid/alkali test on the old coolant, but I will stick the dodgy rad underwater and blow some air into it to find the hole.

as het rises I would flip the fans in to a push config.

This is my worst nightmare, a leak in the water system. Hope you manage to get it fixed sharpish mate, and your system isn't down for too long.

Swap the fans at the top to pushing through the rad as an exhaust.

Swapped the fans at the top. GPU temps dropped by a couple of degrees. More importantly the airtemp inside much better.

Added a side intake fan as well to help airflow. Still planning to go back to 2x 240 rads soon.

Will see how it goes.

I've got the same case, I use a h100 in the roof cooling the CPU and a custom loop using a 240 rad in the front to cool a 7990. I use the front as the intake and the top as an exhaust. Seems to work well.

I'd mount your front rad directly onto the front fans too.
