I need to open a .spv...any alternative besides SPSS?
SPSS outfit file...software alternatives?

Didn't work...i have a .spv, NOT a .sav.
You'll struggle tbh. spv's are unique to SPSS 16 and cant even be opened by older versions of SPSS!
You *might* be able to open it in S-Plus 8 or R but I wouldnt put any money on it.
There is a Reader available from SPSS but it's only compatible with .SAVs too
