I am starting to do more photoshop work on my pc now with weddings ect and would like to get the screen [DGM] calibrated to something half decent.

Looking around i see a few people saying the spyder's are good, are they worth the money - about £170 or not worth it?

I here a lot of people by them off the bay, use them to calibrate their monitor and then stick it straight back on ebay - thus costing hardly anything.

Bit pointless doing that as if you are any sort of pro you'll be calibrating every couple of weeks. The backlights on a monitor change over its life and so calibrating once won't cut it if you really need accurate colours (hence why, in addition to cost, monitors don't come pre-calibrated).

There are a few reviews of calibration gizmos/software in the following link.

Opinion seemed to be that the Eye1 based systems were the best.

They seem to go on the bay for not much more than the Spyder systems, although I'm sure any of them will get you much better colour accuracy than the built in software systems with your monitor/windows.

the Spyder3 is pretty good, and a step up from the Spyder2 series. However, the Eye-One based packages are even better, and are widely used in a lot of high end calibration packages. Might be worth considering instead. The Pantone Huey Pro is also very good

Cheers all, will go and check out the items listed and see which is the best/easist to get hold of.
