So considering one of these as I borrowed an older model from a friend and was happy with the results. The difference between the pro and the express is around £56. Looking at the datasheet here the main thing apart from a few bells and whistles seems the ability to calibrate a HDTV, but most importantly multiple monitors on the Pro.

I'm wondering if this is true, since I remember the Spyder I used simply created an ICC profile which you could associate via windows to the monitor manually (I dumped the spyder software that did this on boot) so surely I can just calibrate each monitor and use the generated ICC profile for each one instead?

Anyone had any experience with each of these? Any alternatives?

You can do exactly what you say and calibrate multiple monitors with the cheaper version. I believe the Pro also has more customisable software giving you more control but for a basic colour fix I've found my express 3 adequate.

Pro looks at the ambient lighting. If you're on a personal level go for Express if on a pro level go for Pro. To calibrate second monitor you'll need to disconnect primary and do the calibration :)
