Spyware scan screwup

Hello this is getting very irritating...

When I run a spyware scan on my pc my pc just locks up and freezes.. I cannot do anything

This happens when i try run a scan with spybot S & D aswell as Adwear

Now I no I have 4 spyware files as my adwear brings them up in its scan whilst it is scanning.

But I cannot do anything as my pc just freezes

I cant even do the scan in safe mode either.. as it does the same thing (freezes, resulting in me having to reset)

Anyone else had this problem? or a way to fix this??

What Virus scanner are you running? I have Mcafee 8.0I and that has a option in the scan settings to look for Adwear.

See if your virus scanner can do the same this may pick up the Adwear.

Other option is to uninstall the software and re install.
 
Just had a problem today with a laptop running Ad-aware & Spybot . It frooze as I was running them .They were both old version [spybot 1.3tx] I uninstalled both programs and downloaded the two new ones .Installed them one at a time and updated them and ran them , both work fine now .The new versions of Spybot is 1.4 & Ad-aware 1.6 .
