Hi all,

Just been working on a friends laptop and it was loaded with spyware and a few viruses.

Now i have managed to get rid of 99% of them apart from one which seems to keep cropping back.

It keeps reembedding itself into the registry and starting up once windows has loaded.

It loads itself as servv.exe and sserrvv.exe. I can end the process in Task Manager and everything seems fine. If i disable it from booting up using msconfig it will change its name to something like the above. It just keeps coming back.

Is there anything at all which will kill this thing once and for all?

I have tried using Symantec Corperate 10.1 - Spybot S&D and Windows Defender.

The problem is, this bit of virus/spyware cains the computer once its loaded chewing up 180MB out of 512MB and gives me Virtual Memory problems if its not killed.

So what AV and Spyware software can i install to kill this off?

Cheers for the help :)

symantec isn't so hot for this kinda of thing

try nod32 or kaspersky

hitmanpro is very good at mass spyware cleanup
