well if you don't want the id included in the output then don't include it.
Without seeing how you are building up the xml table (I know of two ways of doing this)
it's difficult to give you the most appropriate answer so if you can provide a sample code example that will help in providing you with an answer.
You could obfuscate it by naming the headings something obscure and unrelated but XML is hardly a cryptographically orientated language. Not sure what you mean, I second davetherave2's comments.
