Probably all seen this but i thought it would be worth post, some nice info on some new games from SE. Also news of a BR version of FF7 Advent children with extra scenes, shame its only been announced for Japan at the moment.
Wonder if this news puts the FF13 (main game) going multiplatform to bed with the PS3 logo at the end of the video ? who knows (well obviously SE do but not telling us)

TOKYO--Today in Tokyo, over 38,000 gamers rushed the Makarhari Messe convention center to attend the Square Enix Party 2007. As the name implies, the festive two-day event is being held by the titular Japanese publisher to show off its latest slate of games. As the paying public swarmed outside, around 300 members of the international gaming press packed into the grandiosely named Closed Mega Theater for a special, closely supervised preview of Final Fantasy titles.

Once the throng settled and the obligatory warning against video recording was issued, the lights dimmed, and the first trailer began to unspool. With the sonorous strains of harp music playing in the background, the title "Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary Exclusive Project" appeared on the screen. Then a trailer for the new PSP game Dissidia: Final Fantasy began, showing Final Fantasy I characters and FFIX's Zidane duking it out with foes such as FFVII's Sephiroth, Super Smash Bros. style. The game currently has no release date in Japan, let alone elsewhere.

After a brief plug for Square Enix's various mobile endeavors, the next trailer was for the new DS game It's a Wonderful World. Sporting stylized, hand-drawn graphics, it appeared to be some sort of 2D side-scroller targeted at the Japanese market. No US or European release plans were announced, but GameSpot did preview the title at last year's Tokyo Game Show.

Following another mobile game presentation, a montage of Kingdom Hearts titles was shown off. However, the flurry of snippets was merely a teaser for a new installment in the franchise, which will be unveiled at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show this September.

After the logo for Fabula Nova Crystallis--the overarching name for all Final Fantasy XII games--flashed on the screen, a new trailer for Final Fantasy XIII began. The trailer featured a woman named Lightning as she dispatched a series of opponents without breaking a virtual sweat. Afterwards, her companion--a blond man on a motorcycle--summoned a spirit--who looked like a biomechanical version of the Indian deity Shiva--from a crystal, before the trailer ended with a giant PlayStation 3 logo.

Then came a trailer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the PS3 action game set in FFXIII same universe. It showed a hero sporting one of the series' trademark ornate coifs cutting through a throng of soldiers with a gigantic sword, aided by some complex martial arts moves. To the strains of melancholy music, he teleported amongst his opponents, avoiding rocket-propelled grenades and gunfire. As he finally emerged in a throne room to face off against a new opponent, the screen faded to the Final Fantasy Versus XIII logo.

Next was a snippet of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete a new, expanded version of the popular computer-animated film. Quelle surprise, the film will be released on Blu-ray Disc, the PS3's proprietary format, later this year in Japan. No US release date was given for the movie.

After two brief trailers for Before Crisis Final Fantasy VII and Dirge of Cerebus for mobile phones, a preview of Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core for the PSP began. The game's highly detailed graphics, which are near the quality of the original Kingdom Hearts and appear superior to Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, mingled with some cinematics. Several characters of note appeared: the villain Sephiroth, the famously dead heroine Aeris (who is still alive in the prequel), and the spiky-haired hero Cloud. The game is due out on September 13 in Japan, with no US release date yet announced.

A bit more info on FF13

MAKUHARI--The 2007 Square Enix Festival here at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center, just outside of Tokyo, has two stages showing trailers of the publishers many upcoming games. The "open" stage features brief looks at many of these titles but the real action is in the "closed" stage, a smaller, more intimate, and enclosed stage that features longer trailers for some of Square Enix's most anticipated projects. One of the trailers being shown is an updated look at Final Fantasy XIII, one part of the so-called Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII collective series of games based on the FF XIII universe. Though we'd seen the game briefly at other industry events, such as the 2006 Tokyo Game Show, this was the best bit yet.

Unlike many of the trailers on hand in the "closed" stage, the voice-over narration for the FF XIII trailer was in English. As the trailer began, a pair of huge, winged creatures were seen gliding through a ravine, while a female voice described a perfect colony crafted by exalted beings, and known as Cocoon. As the narration describes it, this civilization was protected by crystal creatures and prospered until an "invisible incursion" by an unknown enemy sought to undermine the civilization's purity. As a result, in order to "preserve order" the society took drastic measures: those individuals perceived as "tainted" were rounded up and shipped off.

At this point, the trailer focuses on a futuristic bullet-train of sorts, blasting its way along a transparent tunnel built high above the sky. Suddenly, the tunnel is beset by huge bird-like machines; here, the narration continues, referring once again to crystals--a symbol of peace--that also have the ability to shape the fate of humanity. Thus one person, the voiceover continues, has been chosen to end the world--and that person, it seems, is Lightning the female hero we'd seen in the previous trailers for the game.

Once Lightning gets in on the action, it's ample butt-kicking to go around for everyone. Beset by stormtrooper-like soldiers, Lightning wields her gunsword with skill, dispatching enemies by the truckload. It should be pointed out at this point that, at a certain point in the battle, the game seemed to transition from a CG rendered movie into what looked to be actual gameplay, complete with menus in the lower corners of the screen for things like spell selection. If the actual final game moves as quickly as was shown in the trailer, and with as many dramatic camera angles, we're in for a treat when it comes to FF XIII's combat and its in-game graphics.

Just as Lightning seems about to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of forces closing in on her, she's joined by a partner of sorts--a hulking dude with long blonde hair, wearing a bandana and plowing his way through bad guys as if they weren't there. It seems like the big guy's going to have more than just his brawn on his side; at one point, he casts a spell into the air, which shimmers and dissolves into a dramatic Shiva summon. This doesn't look like any Shiva we've seen before, however. Instead of one ice goddess, this summon involves two Shivas, both of which has some crazy mechanical contraption on their backs. Once the summon is complete, a rollercoaster-like maze of ice tracks form in the sky, wherein our hero hops on his futuristic-looking motorcycle (perhaps comprised of the two Shivas and their mechanical bodies?) and begins blasting bad guys out of the air as he loops and jets around the newly-created ice tracks. Needless to say, it's awesome.

The identity of the new FF XIII hero, as well as his connection to the Lightning--as well as Lightning's role in "ending the world--are mysteries that will have to be solved another day. Nonetheless, it was yet another excellent teaser for a game that looks to inject some new life and inspiration into the Final Fantasy series. Stay tuned for more coverage on the game in the coming months.

Not Fair I wanna see the trailer!!! :(

I think FFXIII and co will go multiformat due to square not confirming either way I'd say they'll leave it until the last minute otherwise there will be outrage, i.e. DMC4 :)
