Ive recently started at a gym and in turn 5 x 5 after recommendations here
Ive been going well the last 5 weeks only stalled briefly on the ohp but it was after a full night out so probably due to that.
My problem is my left knee. When I was at school I did a lot of cross county and cycling but one day my left knee failed the doctors said it was a real bad sprain I was never 100% sure and it had me off my feet for 6 weeks. Since then my left knee has always been weak and its started to play up again.
I believe my form is ok as its not effecting my other knee however since hitting the 50kg area the day after the gym my left knee has suffered. Its almost like it locks up when idle for example I walked to tesco at lunch which is about 10 min each way the walk there was painful putting any real weight on my left leg caused a sharp pain, however the walk back was fine no pain just a little stiffness and a touch swollen/numb but without any actually swelling if that makes sense kinda liked that pumped feel you get after a good session.
I know tomorrow ill wake up fine and will be able to hit the gym without pain. Should I get it checked out by a dr or is this just a side effect of an old injury I never did anything about and will sort itself out in time?
I know the obvious answer is to stop for a bit and let it recover its just ive only just started to get into a routine and dont want to break it
