This doesnt happen every time, but when my partner changes up from first to second, or second to third, I can hear a squeaking noise coming from what appears to be the passenger side wheel. It happens more often uphill, and, like i said, not all of the time, but it is usually from first to second.

Anyone have anyidea what it could be? I dont have the foggiest!

Car is an 03 ford fiesta. Still under warranty with the dealer we got it from so if its something that needs doing, it should be done soon as that warranty runs out in a few weeks!

If i need to elaborate, please say, as im pants with cars

It could be the clutch pedal, or clutch arm on the gearbox... providing the clutch is cable driven.

Have you tried changing gear with the engine off/car stopped? Press the clutch like you would if you were driving.

I'd guess the clutch would be of the hydrolic type given the age of the car, i cant pin point what would cause a squeek on gearchange though

I used to get a squeal going from 4th to 5th in my old 2.0 16v Nova (with quad throttle bodies - nice). I got massive wheelspin in all the lower gears lol. I'm not sure your problem is too much power and lack of grip though ;)

Seems to do it less when its cold for some reason, hasnt done it for days!

Popping into the garage on sat to have a word with them about it.
