squeak/chirping

I'm not sure if I've asked on here but I have a squeak/chirping noise randomly when driving, although when mostly going down hill. Either way I can't make it happen.
It sounds like it could be a wheel issue, but other times it sounds more centralised in the car. I know the exhaust needed a bit of spot welding to help it in place, could this be the cause? Just a slight friction and rubbing?

The only thing that makes it happen more often is when going down hill, either coasting or driving.

Car is a mkIV Golf 1.8t GTI.

This is the problem :p

On topic:

It could be a split/not sealed boost hose. They could be pushing apart under load and taking air in, over working the turbo, making it spin faster. Might be worth having a boost check/looking around all the hoses for any lose fittings/cracks.

It could be virtually anything, a random squeak/chirping is impossible to diagnose over the internet.

Seems to be just randomly, as I can be going down hill and not have my foot on the accelorator.

It sounds like a wheel bearing type chirp, but seems to come from central in the car and not always one side. Think I may just need to get it back in to the garage then. Also think clutch may be slipping occasionally too- I've had it on a previous car so know of the signs and don't think it's turbo lag. Sad times.
