Squeaking when engine cold

There is a squeaking noise with a frequency between 1 and 2 hz (i.e it squeaks once or twice a second) coming from the engine bay when cold. After 10 mins it goes silent. Any ideas?

Alternator belt is a bit loose maybe ?

Check the drivebelt for the powersteering/alty.

Check the fanbelt.
