My cars breaks have gotten very squeaky, i mean, theres allways been a bit, but just after getting home tonight its gotten allmost unbearable, whats the common factors in this?

Cars a Fiesta Zetec S mk 5 i think, its got front disks and read drums apparently.

sometimes fluid can leak from the flexy hoses on to the brakes, causing them to squeal when you brake, same happened on my fiesta, didnt cost much to fix

:)

Crap stuck on the pads or no copper grease on the rear of the pads.

Give the calipers a good blast with a pressure washer, if that doesn't work, take the pads off, smear some copper grease on the rear of the pads and refit.
Failing that, get some EBC greenstuff pads which won't ever squeak.

how much should a garage charge for this kind of thing? i dont have a drive and have no clue when it comes to think kind of thing, so doing it myself isnt really an option.

Can you see how low the pad is? If its nearly worn out you might aswell get new pads.

My 206 squeals like there's not tomorrow in hot weather. I've tried copper grease cleaning the calipers and new pads. The discs are straight too.

The garage have no idea what it is. I think it's the pads themselves. Anyone reccomend some decent pads, keeping in mind it's a 1.4.

never had any brake squeeling with ferodo pads (On last car), going to fit mintex or some Green stuff on the 5 and keep the renault stuff on the clio.

My rear brakes were squealing on my Impreza, I assumed it was the squeal shim and took it to the garage expecting new pads. Garage told me that the previous owner hadn't put any copperslip on the pads when he fitted them. Took them 40 minutes to jack up, disassemble, clean etc and cost me £20.
I'll be doing the fronts myself as they still squeal.
