squeaky sound at shutdown???

ok guys my PC when I shut it down after a long period of use it makes a long squeaky sound which slowly get quieter and goes out after 30-40 sec or so...

Where is this sound coming from?? Only happens once pc has turned off....

Im thinking it was power supply...

I had the sound since I bought the parts and assembled my rig but didn’t think much of it....

Should I be worried?

Not sure, sounds like a capacitor discharging?

that what i was thinking an all.... can it explode are they ment to do that or is a capacitor on its way out?

Happened with my old PSU too, every time it shut down it used to make a squeaking noise. Didn't last long, only about 1 or 2 seconds, but a few months later my PSU died completely.

i don' think its a question of are they meant to, more of a by-product of what they do

actually my powersupply has stayed pretty solid so far...

Yeah, like I said, it was perfect for a few months (Apart from the squeak), then 1 day just died totally and never turned back on
