My Mamba has developed an issue of producing a really annoying squeaky sounds when spinning the wheel (down only, for some reason).

I couldn't find anything helpful in google, so thought maybe someone had come across something like that and how to fix it?

not sure if it helps but there is a product (halfords sell) thats lubricant for car electric window runners. The idea is you spray it on , and it acts like an oil and then evaporates so that you dont have streaks etc..

not sure if this would work, but try at your own risk.

Found what exactly was causing squeaks :) WD definitely would not help.

An LED going into the wheel to make it glow was touching the wheel, producing this terrible sound. If scrolling up, the wheel was pushed a little and LED did not touch. That is why it was only squeaking when scrolling down.

I was able ti fix it by sliding a knife in between the wheel and mouse body and bending the LED slightly. Happy now :)

There is a guy on Youtube who shows how to fix the squeaking with silicon gel. Sounds like you had a different issue though.

I wonder how durable my solution is and even if that is what is causing the problem. Many thanks for the video, mate, i'll give it a shot if my squeaking comes back.
