I know theres been a few threads on this in the past, but I just wanted your opinion on what to do. I recently bought a 4870X2 off the bay for a good price and is in excellent condition.

However I am getting the squealing noises under load. I'm not too fussed about the noise as with my headphones and fans on it doesn't bother me, but my main concern is if I'm going to experience a capacitor or something fail on me soon. Has anyone had a failure after these noises?

I know my mate has had a similar interference issue with his nvidia card, but that was only when he moved his mouse when he experienced any sort noise.

My psu is a Corsair TX 750w so shouldn't be a power issue and the noises don't appear to be coming from the psu anyway.

will the previous owner help you with an RMA/warranty issue if you asked? is it still in warranty?

I doubt it, hes just emailed back saying he hasn't had any buzzing or squealing issues with it in his system. My psu is only 7 months old as well. Just tried different pcie connectors and still having the same issues.

My 9800gt did this when I had the mem clock set to around 975+, but not anywhere under. Try underclocking it and see if that helps.
