hi guys
i'm new to ocing as such as this is my first non-oem pc and the other night i started having some ocing fun. I started with the 7900 .. nudging up the core and memory clocks and then decreasing them slightly when i had artifacting problems .. np's here.
now with the cpu i was going up slowly when a friend said to copy his settings as he was on an asus x38. he said to; cpu voltage - 1.35 CPU GTL (or something) - 1.54 and northbridge - 1.58.
I did this and nudged the fsb straight up to 445 to try and hit 4Ghz but it blue screened. I did however get it to 3.6Ghz without problem. my issue is the mobo was making a squealing noise only when oc'd .. when i took it off it was ok. is the nb voltage too high or something?
thanks
