SRW-S1 Steering Wheel is useless

I had 2 of these since May and its like they brake after 20-30hrs of use. The first time the accelerator paddle stopped working and this time, the accelerator paddle has snapped off. I would get a refund but I cannot use a wheel with pedals. So third time lucky I guess.

I just hope the site that I bought it off will replace it a 2nd time, or thats £85 down the pan :mad:

That my £85 down the pan as they wont replace or refund, I feel a bit robbed cos it was always going to brake at that point as the plastic is real thin, plus just before the accel broke off it stopped working like the first time. Basically the wheel isn't designed to be used for 20+hrs as it brakes after that.

I have been in touch with Steelseries the manufactures and it looks like they are going to be able to replace the wheel for me, so happy days. So hopefully I'll be able to play f1 2012 soon

It will prob brake again, but what else can I do, as I cant use other wheels?

How can you break a 'wheel' that's not attached to anything?

Very true, I have it tied to my old wheel so I can use it for long periods. You really want metal accel/brake paddles tho, as they take quite a bit of hammering if you think about it, or at least thicker stronger plastic/switches.

Trying to think of other steering wheels that would have analogue triggers available, can't think of any. And we have a fair collection here at work.

Yeah thats the thing,, there are no other wheels on the market with accel and brake controls on the wheel. I cant use joypads as there too sensitive and I cant use my hands too well anyhow, so Im what you call stuffed.

The other thing is before when I didnt have this wheel, any racing games I played, I was really really poor at cos I had to use the keyboard, so the accel/brake was either on or off and I couldn't compete with you guys at all. But now Ive seen the light and how much better I can be with a wheel that I can use analog accel/brake with my hands, I dont want to go back to the crummy keyboard. To be honest I cant go back as I tried f1 2012 on the keyboard a few days ago and it was hopeless.

I just dont know what I will do when this one brakes, its a bit like having one of my arms cut off without no wheel as I love my racing games :mad:
