SS upgrade advice please

Steel? Alloy? I just build one based on cinelli gazzetta frame and its smooth and very comfy.
Alloy will be more aggressive and stiffer but i like the motto steel is real.:p

They do a pre built gazetta for 800 odd quid. Alloy maybe specialised langster or dolan.

I looked at the gazetta but the geometry is too small. the only cinelli that looks my fit is the histogram but its so damn expensive. just the frame on its own is £800

Track frames are usually quite short hence I got the 59 frame Im 5.11.
Hmm. whats your budget and are racks and bottle cage important? some of the cinelli range does not have any mounts for anything. Genesis like vonhelmet suggested or on one pompino otherwise.
If you can muster some time and money, I really suggest building one and pick all of the parts yourself.

thanks for the advice. I think i might just stick with current ss and upgrade some parts like crankset. either my next bike will be geared or i will just buy a Dolan fxe and custom build with some high end parts.

was ultimately looking for a light weight bike.£600 mark

To be fair your current bike got a similar frame look, like mine here.

Change wheels and chainset and I reckon you will be happy with it.

600 odd maybe the Kona Paddywagon with reynolds 525 or Specialized langster Alloy.

Histogram would be the ideal choice for long term satisfaction haha.
My mate build one with the Cinelli mash Work steel one at 650 for frame, take a look.

nice bike and yeah you're right its looks very similar to mine.

what rim/wheels would you recommend ?

yeah histogram would be ideal, but i will hold out. i can see in a couple of years carbon bikes becoming more afforable and being used in ss builds.

Bulletproof Halos aerorages. very smooth and you don't want deep rims on traffic riding and it is quite nice to climb with as well. I know deeper rims looks pro!
Chainset either miche, stronglight or sugino, take a look here http://www.velosolo.co.uk/
Not the cheapest place but very good customer service.
Take a look at Bricklanebikes website also.

thank you. yeah not a fan of deep rims myself plus they are heavy

I might mix and match my wheels. the aerorages are dear. so i will get a rear wheel only.

any light weight front wheel recommendations i can purchase just from wiggle/evans etc
