hi guys
im trying to install windows 7 ultimate on to my asus g72 laptop using intel x25-m 80gb ssd.....problem is the machine wont let me choose it to install from...ive tried clearing the cmos, tried running achi and ide modes, changing drives so that ssd is in position 1 as it is laptop that can take 2 hdd.... all to no avail it just doesnt see it..please help me problem solve this before i sell the ssd...:)

bios is updated already and running 602...
i have 2 of these drives and i have installed windows 7 on the other in my main rig taken it out and tried it in the laptop and it sees it at install screen... the other one it doesnt see on either pc on windows install screen....but it sees it inside windows and has been formatted and takes data.....just cant get it to see it at the windows install screen....both drives are running latest firmware from intel

Took the working identical ssd out of my desktop and into my laptop and windows installer sees the drive and will let me choose it so from this the laptop will take the ssd...when I try the other ssd both desktop and laptop don't see it at install screen...
These drives used to be raided together in my desktop raid0 so the firmware is the same and drives are identical....I don't create partitions in my boot drives so am not really sure how to? Currently I have both in the desktop...one has windows installed and the other is seen as drive d....I have formatted it and can us it but I cannot use it as a boot drive... The c drive has created itself a 100mb mbr partition and if I could get the other drive to do this I'm sure we would have success....

right thats it sorted....it wouldnt see a formatted drive in windows installer but when i created a partition with 2 drive letters it sees it no problem...then i just deleted the partition in installer and its currently installing...thanks for the advise guys
