It may be worth a try mind, as I have previously switched out a amd board, for a intel board and CPU and not touched windows and it booted. I was going back to the amd board once a replacement arrived so this was a temporary measure. But it's not idea, if it does work as you'll be removing chipset drivers etc. Clean install usually better
