SSD Drive

Hi there.
I have a problem with my Desktop computer. First of all, I format the computer in order to add my new ssd drive and make it as primary disk. When I install it the computer is crashing when I open the secondary drive 500gb and sometimes the graphic card crashes. Prior the format without the ssd drive the computer was totally fine.
The operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate
Do you have any idea what is going on?

botched install most likely

power down PC , disconnect other 500gb drive , install windows with only the SSD installed
then power down system , attach olde 500gb drive and try seeing if everything is fine

What motherboard are you using? And have you got the SSD plugged into a SATA 2 or SATA 3 port?

gigabyte extreme motherboard and I used an ASUS u3s6 to connect the ssd
