This is extremely tempting, however I don't want to buy it to find that it has issues with OSX or the hardware.

So I guess I am asking if anyone had tried this HDD on a MBP yet or if there are any horror stories floating around.

I hear that the controller is supposed to be pretty good in this one, something based on an ARM 7, hence my interest.

Would be getting a fresh install of snow leopard when it arrives.

Currently using an OCZ Vertex 120GB in a MacBook Pro model 3,1. So I'm limited to 1.5Gbit/sec transfer rate.

Historically OCZ, like most SSDs, have had issues with waking from sleep and some SSDs have issues with the nVidia controller.

OCZ works with snow leopard, v1.30 of the firmware supposedly doesn't have issues whereas 1.40 has sleep issues.

I really want a SSD in my Macbook but is it really worth it? I currently have a 250Gb HDD, considering getting a 64Gb SSD and placing the current 250HDD in a external caddy.

Well it made a difference compared to my 5400rpm drive - even with the SATA 1 limitation. Things are snappier so from my point of view it's worth it as I move my machine around quite a bit.

I have one of those drives in my Macbook - it's pretty cool.

This video is actually of the Crucial one in my Macbook Pro but performance is pretty similar between the two.
