I have a 2007 MacBook C2D 2GHz, 2GB (this one) and its hard drive has died. I'm thinking to up the RAM to 4GB (only 3 will be recognised) and replace the drive for an SSD.

So a couple of questions:
Can I use any SSD or are some more suitable than others?
I have Leopard on there at the moment - is that okay with SSD or should I be looking at Snow Leopard (or Lion?).

Any SSD will be fine, bigger the better. They all will be limited to SATA 1 though (I think) because of the age of the macbook. Not the end of the world, just means last generations SSD's would be a better buy to save a few quid as your out and out bus speed will be limited.

Updating to SL probably would be a good idea anyway, at some point they will abandon Leopard and you can't jump to Lion on ML without SL because of the limitation of the app store. It's be a good opportunity to either way really...
