SSD in Macbook itch

Hi all,

Thinking of putting a SSD in my old macbook(early 2008,2.1Ghz).Only need a 120GB unit,but there are so many to choose from.Which ones are good in the mac's? I would rather sacrifice a bit of speed for reliability.
Would a SSD in such a old machine make a noticeable differance? I have a 11" Air(1.6Ghz),would it be similar speed?

would definitely be noticeable and would probably end up faster than the air depending what you buy

I'd say it is the most significant upgrade you can make. Insanely fast compared to a standard hard disk.

On that model your limited to sata 2 speeds so going for a last gen 120gig model would be a sensible move

(all ssd's are mac compatible too, just use the trim hack to make it all good)

I would look for a OCZ Vertex 2 120GB.
