hi guys and happy new year to you all.
I got a present from my mum and dad and so treated myself to a new Samsung Evo SSD - 500 GB.
Currently i have:
1 X SATA HD with nothing on it.
1 X Samsung Evo 120 GB SSD with windows on it
1 X Samsung Evo 240 GB SD with games on it
Now, my intention was to completely disconnect the HD as its pretty much redundant and connect the new 500GB SSD for additional fast storage. Sounds easy.
However, despite the fact that windows is installed on the 120 GB SSD, upon disconnecting the blank HD, the computer wont boot into windows.
It comes up with an error telling me that it can’t find an operating system.
I’m pretty sure it’s something to do with BIOS settings but i have messed around with the boot priority etc and made sure the SSD with windows on it is the first one that the BIOS should check but it still comes up with the same error - it tells me to install the window CD and use the repair function or something.
It’s weird because the windows installation and the SSD that it is installed upon hasn’t changed in any way what so ever. However the computer hates the fact I’ve disconnected the old HD.
