This is a strange one,im losing space on my SSD on a daily basis.last week i had around 20GB,tonight i have 12GB,dinner time i have 16GB?

I have disabled:

Pagefile

Hibernate

System restore

What on earth is eating up my SSD?

Im stumped on why this is happening so any help would be most helpful.

There's no real need to disable the pagefile.

Does Disk Cleanup not give clues? Also you certain you're not downloading anything to the system drive?

Okay, open up resource monitor and look at what is making those writes and to what file. If it's happening as fast as you say it should be visible.

http://windirstat.info/

if you keep running this when the space changes it should give you a rough idea whats using it.

The only thing which comes to mind at the moment is recorded programs in windows media center, mine kept using tons of random space so i had to move it to a normal hard drive instead.

That's the third section :D

got there in the end :) http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/6692/captureawl.png

Most of it,is my AV scanning me drives as D: is the drive currently being scanned.

my SSD space hasnt changed for the last few hrs,so the log i dont think will tell us anything?

Ive got show hidden files/folders showing and ive gone through every single folder on my ssd,i cant see anything.

It has to be something hidden somewhere, not sure what

speak of the devil more space going

I think windows temp has something to do with by looking at those files.

Well after reinstalling OS,i have the basic installed.

Pagefile is not on the SSD

Hibernate disabled

System restore disabled.

Im still losing disk space not as much as yesterday though, im keeping on eye on it today, but i think i know the culprit, but i might be wrong.

I installed NOD 32 yesterday,i think somehow its storing temp files somewhere and a quick google search has suggested this.

Apparently its stores temp files when using wmp/media centre etc.

when i also checked my temp files with CC cleaner today, i had over 500mb to spare, how can that be possible when the new install has only seen around 1hr use with Google Chrome?

I also have no clue where to find the files.

Ive noticed when i scan my drives with NOD 32,if i keep refresh the My Computer the SSD (OS) drive hard drive space keeps changing, where it will go down a few gig then after the scan it will refresh back to normal.

Ive sent a email to Eset to see what they say

NOD 32 is the only program i im using different to countless OS installs that ive done with my setup.

Im going to uninstall NOD for a few days and use another AV and see what happens.

if you ignore the diagram on windirstat and just use the top panel, it gives a ranked breakdown of which folder is using what space with the one using the most at the top. You could take a screenshot of this before and after and it should show one of the folders is bigger in size and percentage drive space used.
