So ive just orderd my SSD, which will arrive tommorw, had an email saying one was on offer ;) Jumped at the chance. I dont have a windows disk. Whats my best option now, for when it arrives. How can i get windows to the SSD without paying out more?

If the amount of files on your current 500gb is less than 120gb, you can use Windows Backup to create a full hdd backup which you can them restore to your SSD, cost you nothing!

Ive found a windows 7 disk that came with my laptop :) that i forgot about, after ive installed it on my SSD would u suggest formatting my HDD theres nothing on it that i can lose. just games. Would u suggest reformatting it... and then installing some of my main games on my SSD

Find out what version of W7 you have (probably home permium)

Then google the link for 'Digitalriver windows 7 download'

Get the Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1 iso file

Use IMGBurn to burn this to disc, use your product key to install it.

Set your BIOS to AHCI mode for the SATA controllers, you'll get better SSD performance with this on.

I have it turned on on all of my machines. Make that change before installing Windows. If you do it afterwards, it'll stop Windows from booting without a little fiddling..
